I will be performing the following song with my guitar at my Dad’s funeral service on September 8th 2011. This song was had special meaning to both my mother and father. I am told that Terry would often request my mother to join him on stage when he performed this (and possibly other) song(s).

I am told that Terry Smith was a dear friend to my parents.

I’ll admit my steps are growing wearier each day
I’ve got a certain journey on my mind
Lures of this old world have ceased to make me want to stay
My one regret is leaving you behind

If it proves to be His will that I am first to cross
Somehow I’ve a feeling it will be
When it comes your time to travel likewise don’t feel lost
For I will be the first one that you see

Through this life we’ve labored long to earn our meager way
It’s brought us trembling hands and failing eyes
So I’ll just rest there on the shore and turn my eyes away
Until you come then we’ll see paradise

I’ll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan
I’ll be sitting drawing pictures in the sand
And when I see you coming I will rise up with a shout
And come running through the shallow waters reaching for your hand

Message to Terry: Terry our family is moved by the fact that you sang this song to my Mother over the phone the day before she passed on. She spoke of you often.

To use the Google early warning of influenza outbreaks your area check Google.org/flutrends. This would be a good page to bookmark and check regularly. You will also find a search form to find a location to get this year’s flu shot if you want.
